Shuruq Harb is an artist, filmmaker and writer currently based in Ramallah. Her film ‘The White Elephant’ received the award for best short film at Cinema du Reel Festival in Paris, 2018, and was shortlisted for the Hamburg International Short Film Festival, 2019. Her first short story ‘and this is the object that I found’ was published at Mezosfera (2020). She is the recipient of the Han Nefkens Foundation– Fundació Antoni Tàpies Video Art Production Award (2019) which produced her most recent film ‘The Jump’.
Sinethemba Twalo is a practitioner based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Twalo is an associate lecturer in the Curatorial, Public and Visual Cultures Department at the Wits School of Arts. They are a founding member of NGO- NOTHING GETS ORGANISED. Twalo has contributed and/ or presented work in various platforms including the 10th Berlin Biennale (2018), The 2018 Taktlos Free Jazz festival in Zurich, the 3rd Black History Month Florence (2018), the 32nd Sao Paulo Bienal public programme (2016) and the 8th Jerusalem Show (2016) amongst others. They recently co-curated Interfacing New Heavens (2021), with artists-in-labs (ZHdK), at the Javett Art Center at the University of Pretoria. Along with Amy Watson from POOL, Sinethemba as part of NGO is curating the two yearlong project An Accumulation of Uncertainties which forms part of the World Weather Network – a global coalition of 28 arts agencies around the world formed in response to the climate crisis.
